An introduction...

Carrubbers is a non-denominational church that meets at 65 High Street, Edinburgh. The current building was built in 1858 and has recently undergone significant renovation. We now have a very comfortable main hall that seats about 300, an upstairs hall that overlooks the High Street, offices, a lower hall and cafe. You can find out more about the building by taking a virtual tour

Leadership at Carrubbers can be thought of in two spheres: pastoral and physical. The pastoral team looks after the spiritual wel-being of the body of Christ that meets as the fellowship which is Carrubbers Christian Centre, whilst a board of Directors looks after the day to day running of the centre. The pastoral team is headed up by our pastor (Wayne Sutton) and associate pastor (David Anderson) while the board of Directors is chaired by our president (Eric John Scott). If you want to know more about what we believe, we have six core values that outline our beliefs.

Regular meetings include a morning (11am) and evening (6.30pm) Sunday service as well as a Tuesday night prayer and bible study meeting. Other ministry meetings take place during the week too and special events occur from time to time.

Demographics
The graph is taken from data collected in a Census of Scottish Churches during May 2002.

Sunday services attract 200-300 during term time of which a significant proportion are students. They are composed of prayer, praise & worship with a focus on time spent in the Word. Most Sunday mornings, Wayne Sutton, our pastor will share from the Word, whilst in the evenings, Eric John Scott, our president will preach. Other men also share the preaching role and they include David Anderson, our associate pastor and Eric Scott, our former- president. You can get an insight into the content, style, length and format of the spoken messages by listening to a sermon online in the recordings area - this area houses the majority of the sermons since March 2000 (that's over 250 sermons and 1Gb of sermon files!).
