I cannot believe how quickly the years have passed. It was 19th February, 1969, as a young boy, when my father prayed with me and the One who died for me became my Saviour. Although I had always been taken to church even as a baby, although I had known the message of the Bible and even although I had said my prayers, things were never the same after that night in February 1969.
Some might dismiss this as just a subjective experience, but as I grew up I began to understand that my 'subjective experience' had an objective reality, namely the person of Jesus Christ and his resurrection.
In 1976 I left school to study law at Edinburgh University. I now practice in a medium sized law firm in Edinburgh. My professional life is spent in the civil courts dealing with eye witnesses and expert testimony. I have discovered that God has given us evidence of His son, who is the ultimate expression of His love, in eye witness accounts just as we would have in any litigation. I have found this evidence to be reliable and credible.
My profession brings me in touch with every kind of human experience, pain, guilt, joy, sadness, wealth, poverty, love, hate, carelessness, negligence, misrepresentation, truth, lies, justice, injustice - whatever the situation I have discerned that nothing short of forgiveness and the joy of real fellowship with God can remove the deep despair and loneliness plaguing man today.
