We are committed to...
|
1. Cultivating a healthy fear and reverence of God
"Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your
lives as strangers here in reverent fear."
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy
One is understanding." |
|
2. Communicating the full counsel of God through clear, relevant, challenging and uncompromising Bible teaching.
"In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to
teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk,
not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not
aquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the
mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from
evil."
"For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God."
|
|
3. Training and equipping the saints for the work of service.
"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be
evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for
works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."
|
|
4. Developing a praying people.
"Pray continually."
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and
requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the
saints." |
|
5. Encouraging a caring community.
"Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done
by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in
common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had
need. Everyday they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They
broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to
their number daily those who were being saved."
"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No-one claimed that any of his
possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great
power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus,
and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy person among them.
For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the
money from the sales." |
|
6. Bringing the gospel to the world and the world to Christ.
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can
they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless
they are sent? As it is written 'How beautiful are the feet of those who
bring good news'" |
