The Sermon on the Mount
Reconciling Wrongs 5:17-26
- Explain how verses 17-20 act as a summary and explanation for the following verses, 21-48.
i.e. What principle is given in vss 17-20 that is specifically explained and delineated in vss 21-48?. (especially in the passages, "You have heard it said. but I say to you..")
- Looking specifically at vss 21-26, what is it about anger that makes it the internal characteristic most closely associated with the outward act of murder?
- Considering the context, what might it be in v23 that "your brother" has against "you?" What is the relationship between unresolved conflict among believers and our worship/ relationship with God?
- Why is reconciliation among Christians so important?
- Why is reconciliation among anyone so difficult? What can we do to make sure it happens?
